The Brief
Kazimirksi Law Group understands that they engage with people after traumatic events. Their previous website did little to put a human face on the Kazlaw team. Our mission was to create a site that foregrounds the people at Kazlaw, showing their passion for helping people who have been injured and their expertise at winning cases and getting fair settlements for their clients.
We designed the website to act as a valuable resource by explaining clearly their different areas of practice, and to provide a reference that guides users through the different aspects of injury law.
The Process
Whenever we start a redesign the first thing we want to hear about is what prompted the need for the new site, and to get a good understanding what is and and isn’t working with the existing site. We then look at the digital ecosystem that the client is navigating, assessing the competition, understanding internal processes and capacity and really looking at what the site needs to do to support the client’s goals.
We also assess how radically we can approach the messaging to create a site that is unique and effective in both substance and style. For this project we explored a range of possibilities for storytelling, presentation and approach.
Corporate Site as Resource
In the end we positioned Kazlaw as a reliable partner in case of an accident. The goal was to show instead of tell, so we focused on creating content that explained four main concepts:
- Explaining the different areas of practice in accident law;
- Step by step guidance on what to do in case of an accident;
- Explaining the ins and outs of dealing with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC);
- Guiding people through the claims process on a typical case
The site also hosts the Kazblog to update visitors on recent claim wins, provides profile information for every member of the team, and provides a hub for the Personal Injury Law class given by Sandy Kovacs at the UBC Peter A Allard School of Law.

Custom Photography
When we talk about bringing a human face to the Kazlaw team, stock photography won’t do. We leveraged our combined experience in advertising photography to capture the team in action over the course of two days, setting up multiple shoots through the office.
The main challenge to shooting in a modern working office was staging shots in a natural way, and also dealing with a predominance of reflective surfaces. Tight framing, depth of field control and a relaxed atmosphere made the shoot a success even with the most camera shy of subjects.
Writing for SEO
Once we understood the story elements we wrote each with an eye to creating SEO-friendly pages that responded to search volume for specific content relating to accident law, specifically targeting local searches for lawyers in Vancouver.Ongoing Relationship
As with most of our web clients, we have an ongoing relationship with Kazlaw and maintain the site as well as handling new content pages, site and platform upgrades and general maintenance.Codename
